Solution for roller shutters in the 2nd escape route
The requirement in accordance with Section 33 of the Model Building Regulation (MBO) demands at least two independent escape routes per floor, at least one of which must comply with the regulations of the first escape route.
The first escape route is a traffic route that enables people to leave a hazardous area quickly. It leads either out of a building into the open or into a secured area. Examples include corridors, stairs and exits, which people use to escape to safety in the event of a fire.
In contrast to the first escape route, which is strictly regulated and clearly defined, there are countless possible solutions when designing the second escape route. Whether you consult the MBO or other state building regulations, you will not yet find uniform regulations nationwide.
For sun shading manufacturers, architects and planners, this represents a massive challenge in terms of design and implementation. This in turn can lead to conflicts. Especially if the fire protection requirements for sun shading in the second escape route are not taken into account. Furthermore, aesthetic aspects, monument protection regulations, structural framework conditions and, last but not least, costs must be reconciled.
The ingenious design of the RESCUE-R can be easily integrated into all standard roller shutter boxes.
All components are dimensionally designed so that only the crank handle needs to be installed inside the building.
The freewheel with shaft driver is fitted to the motor. The system is installed as usual, except that the gearbox is fitted instead of the counter bearing and the roller capsule. If a specific direction of crank rotation is required, the gearbox can be rotated by 180° axially. The shaft length/hanging width must not be less than 750 mm.
If the roller shutter cannot be raised electrically in the event of a fire, RESCUE-R is used. Simply remove the linkage from the bracket and turn it. The safety seal serves as a visual indicator that the crank should only be operated in an emergency. Operating the emergency hand crank triggers the freewheel, whereby a regular clicking sound can be heard if necessary.
No measures are necessary when recommissioning both SOLIDline motors. If the blind was opened with the crank handle, the crank handle should be turned a quarter turn in the opposite direction before commissioning to relieve the gearbox and prevent the crank handle from turning during motor operation.
