RESCUE-R combines the convenient electric motor with a smooth-running gear to open roller shutters in no time in emergency situations.
In the event of fire, every second counts. Buildings in which people are regularly present therefore need two independent emergency exits on each floor - this is required by the German building regulations. However, if windows or doors leading to the outside are equipped with a shading system, this must quickly open in the event of an emergency. With RESCUE-R, GEIGER now also offers a reliable and fast drive solution for roller shutters for the second emergency exit.
"With RESCUE-R, comfort and safety go hand in hand," says Martin Schäfer, who manages at GEIGER the mechanical drives sector and the sun protection sales in Germany. For the new RESCUE-R, the expert for sun protection drives has developed a special gear in order to open the second emergency exit and has applied for a patent: "With a reduction of 1:4, the curtain can be rolled up with just a few turns of the crank. This way, the emergency exit is cleared quickly and easily," explains Martin Schäfer. The durable, maintenance-free and compact system can be easily integrated into all commercially available front and top boxes for roller shutters. RESCUE-R is available for 60 and 50 octagonal shafts and can be installed on the left or right. The kit consists of a SOLIDline motor for convenient everyday use with connection cable and tube adapter, a freewheel and smooth-running bevel gear for emergency operation as well as a design crank handle with concealed mechanism, airtight spherical bearing, crank holder and safety seal. The special feature of the innovative gear is that the manual drive is decoupled from the motor by the freewheel to allow easy winding. In addition, the crank can be fixed in place without rotating with the motor operation of the roller shutter. RESCUE-R is available with optimally matched components as a kit or in modules. The kit and the modules can be used for new construction and retrofitting. The precisely thought-out solution is based on 70 years of experience in the development and production of drives and components for sun protection at GEIGER in Bietigheim-Bissingen.
